I really related to this, especially the obsessing and being angry. I get sent back into my past by things that seem silly to me after the fact; but when I'm in the throes of them, they are hugely important. I think this post is more-than-relevant topic today, when so many people seem to be more aware of their emotions than ever before. Is it from Covid and the isolation, which maybe caused some of us to brood more about our pasts? Who knows? I like how conscious you are of your feelings and that you have tools to move through them.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting. It’s amazing how easily we get thrown back to our past…The isolation of the Covid lockdowns was so unnatural for humans who need people, so it could well be affecting our awareness of our emotions.
I dream of heaven when we have eternity on our hands and we spend whatever infinite “time” is there with everyone who is there too, together in bunches, large or small, or one on one with people who are family, friends, acquaintances, strangers who won’t stay such for long, and, of course, Jesus, Himself. We won’t ever be bored with one another but always endlessly fascinated and finally truly “busy” but only in Love!
God loves when we are real with Him about how we feel. Our God is a God with skin on who was in all points tempted like we are. He made us, He came through Mary's birth canal and walked as a man on this planet. The psalms of lament are real; Jesus' cry from the cross was real. God did not sanitize the record of the deepest grief and sorrow. At one point, Psalm 22:24 lets us know the outcome: "He did not despise nor abhor the affliction of the afflicted One, neither did He turn His face from Him; but when He cried unto Him, God heard." We can come boldly to the Throne of Grace, the Cross, and find grace to help in time of need. Thank you, Katie.

Wouldn’t that be lovely? We could have a taste of it here.
A taste, a glimpse, sure . . . but NOTHING like what's gonna be.
I can't hardly wait for the whole shebang. It's gonna really be SOMETHING!

That’s for sure!

That is so true on being real with God. Isn’t it amazing he experienced everything we do? I just read a piece on the Shroud of Turin that was very detailed how he suffered. https://www.churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2024/6-september/news/uk/turin-shroud-scholar-produces-more-evidence-of-its-authenticity?utm_campaign=Church+Times+RSS+Daily+bulletin+2.0+%28ads+in+header+and+footer%29&utm_source=emailCampaign&utm_content&utm_medium=email&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR0SMRQsMnM4xfvzCy9944SGmx_55EENIcO05EZOLwj2UJFoH85fXkImsus_aem_FCpChi9_zbrvUcBU7pNpSQ
