Beautiful. This must have been both a sorrow and a joy to write.

Two questions came to mind while reading: do Holy Angels ever look smug; and did Jesus' wounds scar over?

I guess if there ever was a moment when a Holy Angel had "a smug look on his face," it would have been then at Christ's Victorious Resurrection and the smugness wouldn't have been meant for the pathetic human guards but for Satan and his unholy host of fallen angels, huh?

About Jesus' wounds, I like to think that they remain holes in Christ's Body that we can put our fingers or hands inside should we even need to do so like Thomas was invited to do once.

Well the Luke passage says they were two men in shining raiment. (Could they have been Moses and Elijah.)

Well yes, the smugness that death was conquered by death.

Well all right the wounds remained holes. Thanks for your good words here.

I do like picturing smug holy angels when they are gloating over Jesus' awesome victory over sin, death, and the Devil! And about whether or not Jesus wears his wounds as scars or holes, that's His prerogative to choose. Huh?

I guess it is a mystery about those wounds. There is sooo much that is mystery.
