How fascinating to learn about “hitting the mark” as being in opposition to missing the mark. I hadn’t heard that connected to intercession. So much to ponder.

I always add to The Jesus Prayer my own ending, “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of The Living God, HAVE MERCY UPON ME, a sinner . . . who is SAVED by Your Grace!”

Not that Jesus would ever forget . . . but I often do.

That’s a good ending. I forget too. When I get afraid I remember he said anyone who comes to me I will in no wise cast out.

Thank you! I didn't know about the Mission of St. Clare and was gratified to see that it lists Ancient Faith, which is Orthodox. And also grateful for the discussion of the koine words for sin and intercession. Had no idea they were antonyms!

You're welcome. I'd heard it somewhere and looked it up to make sure I'd heard right and I did. Mission St. Clare is wonderful. It's given Bruce and I a chance to pray together without it being threatening. And I think that steady practice has changed our lives, but quietly. As always thank you for reading this.
